Local company scheduled to print first 3D home in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. (Tampa Bay Now). A local company is trying to solve the Tampa Bay Area housing crisis by 3D-printing homes!

The first house is already on the market. It is due to be built in next year.

Matt Gibson, CEO, Click, Print, Home, stated that “in early 2021, there were so many buyers and very little housing inventory.”

Gibson used to work full-time as a real estate agent. Click, Print, Home, which is a concrete 3D printing business, is now owned by Gibson.

Gibson said, “If i can’t come up a new housing inventory for sale, then I will have to find another thing to do.”

Click, Print, and Home was born.

Gibson said, “We’re getting ready to print our first South Tampa house.”

He claims that the company will print its first home in 2023. The goal is to alleviate the Tampa Bay Area’s housing crisis.

Gibson stated, “We will be in a position to complete houses in a very short time, I would say in two to three months.”

Candis Carmichael of Tampa, a realtor, said that “we are on the cusp to do something amazing for our community.”

Experts believe these 3D-printed houses can really help families that are having trouble finding affordable housing.

The home is scheduled to be printed January 2009 at $599,000.

Candis Carmichael, a Realtor, believes these homes should be accessible to everyone, not just the wealthy.

Carmichael said, “If people don’t have the money to buy it, it does not do any good.”

Gibson claims that after a while, the cost of these homes will drop. Carmichael and Gibson both believe there will be other benefits if 3D homes are printed more often.

You will have less waste materials. There is an estimated $10,000 savings just in material waste. Carmichael stated that you can reduce the production time.

Gibson stated, “We will be able to generate more jobs, high-tech jobs and robot operators, assistant manager printer managers,”
