3D-printed homes provide groundbreaking alternative

Although building a home can be costly and time-consuming, there is an alternative. Some construction companies now use 3D technology to create homes.

There are many builders across the country who are now using 3-D printing. It is usually faster and more affordable than traditional construction. This is not limited to full-size homes.

One company in Southern California is manufacturing shed-sized dwelling units that you can put up in your backyard.

The 3D-printed structures can be as large as 200 to 900 feet in area and are made with recycled materials.

The printing, delivery and installation of the unit can take up to two weeks.
