Rewa (MP), Dec 24 (PTI) A 19-year-old woman was allegedly beaten up by her boyfriend in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district after she asked him to marry her, police said on Saturday.
An official stated that police had opened a case against the man, who was 24, after the video of the incident on Wednesday surfaced on social media.
Initial information suggests that the man in this video is from Dhera village, Mauganj, said Naveen dubey, sub divisional police officer (SDOP).
He said that the victim and the accused had been in a relationship. After a dispute, he beat her up.
The woman asks the accused to marry him in the video. Initialy, the man gets annoyed and kicks and slaps her in the face.
The victim had gone to the police station to tell them about the incident. She refused to file a complaint. According to the official, the accused was taken into custody under section 151 (disturbing the public peace) of IPC.
