Merch-on-demand platform Merchr strengthens team Prolific North

Merchr’s print-on demand merchandise platform has expanded its team by three new employees.

Ariel Or and Titilayo Saalu have been hired as graphic designers. Dan Delew is the new partnerships manager.

Merchr is a company that has its production facility located in Middleton in Greater Manchester and a second location in London. It allows individuals and groups the opportunity to design and sell their merchandise collections.

Delew is a marketing professional with five years experience, primarily in the retail market. Merchr hired him after he worked for Tessuti – a premium fashion brand – and previously Dare2b & Tech Nation, a Regatta Group sportswear label.

Merchr’s role involves developing new partnerships with retailers and other stakeholders, such as sports clubs, tourist attractions, etc., as well as product suppliers. This is to drive the growth of the company.

Merchr co-founder and director Nora Yassin said: “As a company focused on supporting retailers and brands, we recognised the need to recruit someone with hands-on experience in the retail sector. Dan’s expertise in this industry will be a huge asset to the business. His arrival allows us to create even more high-level and impactful partnerships.

“Our strategy is for Merchr to become a broad marketplace, and we believe that the way to achieve this is through partnerships – with suppliers to add more products and with the likes of retailers, visitor attractions and sports clubs.”

She added: “Investing in talented graphic designers ensures that we are moving forward in the right direction and aligning with our growth goals by raising our brand presence and creating a competitive edge. A key part of the strategy is to create compelling visuals that are on-brand and capture our Merchr user’s attention. Current projects include packaging, marketing materials, branding concepts, product designs and more.”

Merchr’s team now numbers 20. Additional recruitment for roles such as a web designer and an ecommerce channel manager is underway.

Merchr recently expanded its product line with towels, blankets and mugs. It also offers coasters and canvas prints.

There are also hoodies, tee-shirts, polo shirt, jackets and caps, as well as totes and make-up bag, backpacks and messenger bags. Power banks and earphones can be found, along with office and desk items like pens and pencils.

Merchr, founded by a team with extensive experience and Martin Varley as their senior executive, is the leader in the personalised product industry. The platform allows users to launch and create a free online shop by uploading and designing customised product collection with artwork, a slogan, logo or an image. Alternatively, they can connect an existing website via Merchr’s integrations with e-commerce platforms such as WooCommerce, and soon Shopify.

Merchr helps individuals and groups – from charities, visitor attractions, clubs, societies and schools to musicians and other entertainers, sports people, entrepreneurs and YouTubers – to build their brand and reach new audiences by creating merchandise stores to sell to fans, friends and followers in an eco-friendly, risk-free way without the need to hold stock or worry about the logistics of production, printing and shipping.

Merchr prints and drops-ships the merchandise at a cost that is set by the store owners. Once an order is placed, Merchr’s software delivers print-ready artwork directly to the Middleton facility which is equipped with the latest digital printing, direct-to-garment, direct-to-film and laser engraving machinery. The products are delivered within 24 hour.
