New 2023 Apple Watch Ultra to Feature 3D Printed Parts [Report]

According to TF International Securities analyst, Apple plans to use 3D-printed parts in its next-generation Apple Watch Ultra. Ming-Chi Kuo.

Apple’s latest survey shows that the company is actively adopting 3D printer technology. Some of the titanium mechanical components of the 2H23 Apple Watch Ultra are expected to be 3D printed.

Kuo points out that 3D-printed parts can reduce production costs and improve production speed, even though they still need to be processed by CNC for the back-end.

IPG Photonics is the only supplier of laser parts for 3D printers, and Farsoon, BLT, and Farsoon are also part of this supply chain.

Kuo believes that if shipments are successful, more Apple products may adopt 3D-printing technology. This will improve Apple’s ESG performance and production costs. This new production trend will also benefit the above-mentioned vendors.
