Only in Print: Titanic Exhibit Enlivens Stories of 1,500 Lost, Including a Heroic Priest

GREENWICH VILLAGE — At the conclusion of the newly-opened “Titanic, The Exhibition,” interactive experience in Manhattan are four large panels bearing the names of the estimated 1,500 passengers and crew lost in the sinking of the historic, ill-fated ocean liner. 

On display are stories pulled from the shadows of 110 years ago. A few of those lost souls were prominent in the history of New York City, such as business magnate John Jacob Astor IV and Isidor Straus, co-owner of Macy’s department store, who were among the passengers in first-class accommodations …
